Principal's Message

I am proud and honored to be the new Principal of Madison Elementary as I welcome you back to the 2020-2021 school year. I recognize that 2020 has been a unique year full of challenges for all of us, especially as our students have returned to school virtually through distance learning. Although this has been a very different way to begin the school year, this will not last forever. The amazing Madison teachers, staff and all of the RUSD teachers across the district will be here to support you and our students.
While we want nothing more than to be back on campus with you face to face, we will continue to do our very best to stay connected and provide all families access to high-quality instruction and the resources to engage in learning from a remote location.  As you participate in distance learning, hybrid learning, or home based learning this year, please know that we are here for you. Please reach out and we will do our best to get you the technology, resources, materials, and support for your child’s success.

Communication will be important, so please stay in touch with your teacher via email or communication apps such as Dojo and Remind. We will provide website updates, Facebook posts, phone calls, and text messages to keep you current with information from Madison and RUSD. There are also family engagement opportunities such as membership in PTA, School Site Council, and English Learner Advisory Committee.

Remember, daily student attendance and engagement is the key to student success. It is important your child is in school every day to ensure a successful school year.

I look forward to meeting all of you and becoming even more immersed in our school community when we return to in person learning. In the interim, feel free to contact me with any questions or needs.
Ms. Astrid Ramirez Principal
